My genealogy roots can be traced to this very early interesting New England Patriotic town of Hartland Vermont. Joseph Lull being my Third Great Grandfather as listed here as # 2436. Private Joseph Lull. He is the son of Old Capt. Timothy Lull of Hartland, Vermont. Joseph Lull's father Capt Timothy Lull was the founding father and first settler above Fort # 4 in from Charlestown, New Hampshire, to settle Hartland as the founding father of Hartland in the year 1763.
Joseph Lull b. abt. 1755; of Ware, Ma. Canoed up the Connecticut River in 1763 along with his dad, mother Mary H. Brown and siblings to Hartland, Vermont in a log canoe. He like so many other Lull children of Old Capt., Timothy Lull and grandchildren were not to be out done by each other by their own family members, History Wise.
Joseph Lull and his cousin John Lull now long buried in Plains Road Cemetery at Hartland
were in fact at The Battle of Saratoga as confirmed by yet
another History source investigation. This has just recently happened this year. Along with two other two other Lull cousin family members.
David Lull and Moses Lull both of Fort # 4 and from New Hampshire originally from Massachusetts.

Note: Joseph, Walter, Lyman Lull were all listed in 1830 NY census records in Pomfret, NY., which might be Ripley, NY or East Ripley, NY now. Lyman Lull comes from Hartland, Vt. belongs to Joel Lull Jr. under Joel Lull from Hartland, Vt. My Grandfather said, we had a Starr in the family. Walter married Rachel Starr. Emily Lull above as a child of Joseph or wife of one of the other men listed, here in this Paragraph.
History: Vermont Revolutionary Rolls include: Joseph Lull - Pension Record 1(#R6518 ) 41, pg 28. Capt. John Benjamin's Co. 8/16-10/4/1777 (Pg 28) Ranger 1780 (Pg 195) Rev. 2436. Joseph Lull s/o Old Capt., Timothy Lull cont:
History: Gilbertsville Library Date: 6/7/99: The Pioneers of Unadilla and Reminiscences, Francis Whiting Halsey and Dr. Gaius Halsey, Unadilla, NY 1902.
“On the site now occupied by Mr. Eells's house there stood ... one ... occupied by Amos Priest, who was the practical farmer for the Nobel and Hayes firm,
Amos Priest came to Unadilla as early as 1828 and probably before that time. He was, I believe from Catskill. His wife's maiden name was Olmstead.
She was from Sidney and long survived him.” Page 194.
The Census of 1850 says Amos Priest was born in Mass., and his wife born in NY. Gary Allen Lull, found one Rev. William Lull listed in census records in Catskill area.
# 2436. Joseph Lull, Served with Capt. Benjamin Coxe's Company, include Lt. Green and Pvt. Joseph Lull, who went to relief of Fort Royalton, Vt. Source Article from “Vermont History Vol. 30 page 89 1962 on Jonathan Carpenter and the American Revolution and The Journal of an American Naval Prisoner of War and Vermont Indian Fighter. Dated October 16, 1780. “This morning we were alarmed by intelligence that the enemy were burning and plundering at Royalton (VT.) and it was supposed ye woods wer full of them. Lt. Green, with four day's provision, we marched (by night) to Fort Bethel from whence upwards of 100 men had just come under Captain Sefford to Royalton.” “History of Captain Benjamin Coxe's Company included Lt. Green and Pvt. Joseph Lull the son of Old Capt. Timothy Lull of Hartland, Vermont.”
History: Hartland, Vermont at Lull Creek where Old Capt. Timothy Lull is buried. Original family location was from Hartland, Vt. Under Joseph Lull who went to Unadilla, NY with family. Although the Walter Lull was listed originally under Joseph Lull from Morris, NY. Which was wrong because THAT Joseph Lull did not include him in his will and the reason was he was from the other Joseph Lull Jr. from Butternuts, NY. Which would make sense as there was no other reason to do it, because he was not his child? Someone made a mistake and placed him under the wrong Joseph Lull. This writer has found this to be a common mistake with former researchers. This error has been made twice, once with Rev. William Lull and now with Walter Lull.
History: Rangers: Original Rangers were Rogers Rangers: Under Maj. Jonathan Rogers, Mass.
Another group of Ranger's were formed: by Seth Warner who was with the Green Mountain Boy's and served with then Col. Ethan Allen.
Later forming his own Regiment of Rangers. From this unit Original Rogers Rangers, were Indian Fighters during the French and Indian Wars.

For me it has been with great pleasure, pride and in 42 years of genealogy research I have been rewarded
that I am from such a Patriotic family. My heart soared like the Eagle when I found the result of this research.
I am, so proud, I served to defend this symbol of our country. To say, I too, can measure up to standing,
Muzzle to Muzzle against the British Rifles in the field, under fire.
For you who do not understand, it is, the Honor for me to walk in the ghost foot steps of my ancestral hero's, to be able to say with pride, I am an American. Defender of the Faith, Honor, Duty to County.
I say to “John Lee Hancock” and “Mil Gibson,” Gentleman have I got a movie story for you.
